Rishi Valley Institute for Educational Resources (RIVER) , Indian Institute of Technology Madras, the University of Würzburg and Regensburg, Germany, and UNICEF, India are jointly hosting an educational conference on Multi-grade Multi-level education (MGML) at the IITM campus, Chennai from 17th to 19th February 2016 (Optional Pre-Program for participants not exposed to MGML/ABL model: 15th-17th February 2016 at Rishi Valley)
This conference aims to:
• To improve existing practice specifically with regard to scaling up MGML/ABL methodologies
• To explore ways of extending the scope of Multi-grade models to make them more inclusive. Specifically to device ways of serving the varied needs of differently-abled and/or children from unstable backgrounds, migrants, refugees fleeing from natural disasters or state violence.
• To examine if technology can increase learning outcomes, teacher effectiveness, and sustainable scale up of the various models in multi-grade teaching and learning
• To delineate the potential of the methodology in accommodating diverse cultures
